But now Pacquaio has beat De La Hoya, Which was NOT expected. It sets up this MASSIVE fight, which I expect won't be called a "sizeable mismatch" unlike the De La Hoya fight.



Personally I think a Mayweather v Pacquiao fight would be truely amazing

thats true because i brought this fight up too.

i remember specifically there was a thread where the question was, "What 3 fights would you like to see floyd fight before retirement?"...

and my response was this (in no specific order): pacman, cotto, oscar rematch.

please note that was just after floyd beat hatton by TKO...

i remember those who wanted to see this fight were laughed at...

now it looks a lot more likely to happen as it should.

i mean can anyone think of a reasonably more competitive/challenging fight for either floyd or pacman???

Sometimes you have to prove yourself at a higher weight for a fight to make sense. And after the destruction that Manny put on Delahoya, of course the fight makes more sense.

Struggling against Eric Morales in the first fight and having trouble in both Marquez fightst at 130 is the reason why this fight wasn't talked about. It was considered a P4P mismatch.......not anymore.
