Yes, neither Taylor, Froch and Pascal have fought any elite super-middleweights yet, and none of them have called out Kessler, presumably because they think they'd probably lose to him.

Dirrell is a beast though, and should be getting a title shot soon. I think he is Inkin's mandatory, actually...
      The Ring's top 5 super-middleweights are:

      1. Mikkel Kessler
      2. Lucian Bute
      3. Librado Andrade
      4. Anthony Mundine
      5. Jermain Taylor

Froch is rated 6, and Pascal isn't rated by them at all.

This was a GREAT fight and way better than the one sided bore that was Oscar and Pac.

But if Froch thinks he can beat Joe, then he is out of his ****ing mind.

Kessler obviously has the best resume at SMW having beaten Andrade and Mundine, and being in the ring with Calzaghe. Bute's best win at SMW is Andrade, and Andrade's is...? Maybe Yusaf Mack, who is not elite either. Mundine keeps saying he is moving down to 160, so I don't rank him at SMW anymore until he makes a solid effort to compete at 168.

So my point about the WBC rankings still stand... since it is common practice not to rank fighters who hold belts with other sanctioning bodies, that leaves Kessler and Bute off their list. Froch is the WBC titleholder, and Andrade is not available for ranking by the WBC (it doesn't say why).

With all those players out of the way, who should the WBC rank ahead of Taylor? If you agree with the ring rankings, and you said you did, WBC #2 makes perfect sense.

Least hes a champ now and might pick up an easy "big" fight next?
Taylor will avoid him IMO and go for a bigger money fight...this fight would be a great stepping stone for Kessler as I think he would be way to strong for Froch...I would pay to see that fight.

It was a great fight, but Christ people are jumping to conclusions. We don't know what we have in Carl Froch from a fight with Jean Pascal. Pascal has shown a suspect chin and absolutely no power in his career. He has been a massive question mark. All we know is that he is a relatively good win, but it isn't a fair barometer because he is as untested as Froch was. I'd love to see Froch in with Taylor, Kessler, Andrade, Bute, or even Bika. These are fighters who we know what they bring. We'd be able to accurately interpret results against them.

froch has a devastating air jab and a great chin. that's what won him the fight according to the great british announcers.

Dude he came to canada at age 4. He grew up there and identidies himself as a french canadian. It's not like he's a Klitschko fighting out of GerMANY type situattion

Battles like that don't just happen... the fighters let them happen.

A slugfest is to Froch's advantage because he is the slower but stronger man... toe to toe exchanges favor his style.

Pascal got drawn into a fight that didn't suit his strenghs... the main one being his speed. Pascal being the faster man would've been better served to pick his shots carefully, set up combinations using a jab, and relying on his defense whenever Carl pushed the action, and his jab to keep Carl at bay.

Instead Pascal showed zero jab when he needed to, was drawn into brutal exchanges with a bigger, stronger man, and kept his hands down the entire fight.

Carl was marginally smarter in that he developed a quick snapping jab in the later rounds which is what won him the fight. He still did not cover his face, allowing Pascal to land flush shots whenever he got the energy to do so.

Now, back to your original claim that Taylor nor Kessler have been in a battle like that... they're both too smart and too skilled to get drawn into such a sloppy game of "you hit me, I'll hit you, repeat." Boxing is as much about defense as offense, and it doesn't take an "expert" to figure that much out.
you seem to have missed my point completely, and it would far too arrogant of you or anyone else to question my knowledge of the sport.
