Why couldn't Oscar train as hard and get down to 147 to fight Floyd?

Because DLH didn't want to fight Marg, so a fight with Manny was his only option.

Yeah Oscar wanted the size advantage against Mayweather, but it backfired on him by slowing him down and killing his endurance. Oscar was always a better fighter at 147 and below.

I forgot about that one, Mayweather wanted a belt in another weight class for legacy. I still say it wasn't an advantage for DLH, he lost speed and didn't have to train as much to make weight. That extra power didn't do him any good against an elusive fighter like Floyd.

Oscar is a hoe like that...shameless.
exactly... plus dlh had to make a concession cause there was no way roach was gonna let dlh fight pac with dlh at 154... in the end it don't matter cause pac is getting KTFO anyways... so sayeth Teddy Atlas so it shall come to pass... Amen

They fought at light middleweight to give Oscar a chance to win. Simple as that.

                  Floyd's that frickin good

You said it best. No other reason really. Floyd is the ONLY real ATG of this era. History will show that and even the haters will realize that as his opponents continue to do well.

Statements like these cannot be made until we see him fight against Manny. Until then, we don't know what weight he is faster now. If anything, I predict he will be slower at 147, for he will have less energy due to being drained. Oscar had been fighting above that weight for 6 years before he fought Floyd, so there is no proof that today's Oscar would/will benefit from fighting at 147.
