i still put him behind Roy Jones then if we are talking Era's

when comparing, i bring resume and skill together.
roy jones was absolutely a superman.
roy did what he did his way,but he wasn't a good inside fighter.
oscar was.oscar is more in the mold of a ray robinson,
as opposed to jones who was more in the mold of ali.
meaning they where both more about physical talent,
creativity and ingenuity, than they where textbook, boxer puncher.
if he'd beat everybody he fought, oscar would be ahead of him.
hopkins (oscar's 6 weightclass) is way better p4p than ruiz would ever be
(roy's 5, though could be seen as his sixth,even though he skipped cruiser )
IF he beat everyone he face he would have been above roy.if roy retired after the ruiz fight he'd be top 3 IMO.

maybe even the greatest, if he beat everyone he faced.
as far as skill is concerned, he was a one handed ray robinson(his right hand wasn't as great as his left, as ray's was)
he had grace,skill,heart(it took the days of for 2 fights),chin,
he could box and brawl.he could fight on the inside, on the outside.
he could fight comng forward, going backwards.
these are all things that are said about ray robinson.
he was more sugar than shane was.(maybe if his name rey de la hoya, he could have gotten that nickname)
he won belts in six divisions,17 title defenses( I'm not sure about that number)
say what you will about him as a person(as i have) but i don't think many people would come up with an argument against him not being top 3,2, or 1 IF he beat everyone he faced.

i agree top 3 or 5 had he beaten them all but think about this he was never domintaed in any fight he lost they were all close fights or competitive only person to dominate him was bernard hopkins. so that alone makes him a legend in my eyes because i have spoken to people who dont think he is a great fighter.

No doubt top 3 ever if he went undefeated in his career. Honestly I'd probably have him right there in a dead heat with Robinson and Ali. You could say he was the best ever and wouldn't get a complaint from me. 6 division champ with wins over MAYWEATHER, HOPKINS, TRINIDAD, Mosley TWICE, holy **** that would have been unbelievable.
