Schaefer said Saturday’s “Dream Match” could match, surpass or come close to the all-time record in pay-per-view sales of 2.4 million buys – the one featuring Dela Hoya against Floyd Mayweather last year.

Ticket-wise, it’s another one for the books.

“This is going to be the second highest grossing gate in Las Vegas for a boxing event and that’s remarkable for the global recession and economic turmoil we are experiencing,” he explained.

”And this will make Manny Pacquiao much bigger,” he continued.

Saturday, he said, is going to be a star-studded fight.

Hollywood stars scheduled for attendance include Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Mark Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Russel Crowe, each one of them hoping to catch a blockbuster like no other.

I think that there are a pile of Pinoys that'll spend there last rupie or whatever the unit of currency is over there to watch this fight out in the Philippines (assuming ,of course, it is marketed as PPV there. Will it be?). Not to mention the sizeable population of American Pinoys here and Pinoy expats everywhere else. Therefore, I think there is a pretty fair chance this will meet or surpass DLH vs Mayweather.

I doubt it, Pac-Goldie is in crisis and will make hard to sell. But globally they will feel good....

at first i thought for sure it would but the economy has not gotten better at all so i guess i dont expect it to break the record now that i seriously pay attention to the situation. i think it will do about 1.8 at least though...

                  NO.

It would've done better in a better economy, but I still doubt if better than PBF-DLH.

Maybe Pac's next superfight IF he wins.

Sorry Pacbanned. "Peso" that is...anyway all these people worried about the 'ecomuny' pay too much attention to the 'news' outlets. It's only 55 bucks. It's not like fans are tryin' to get a loan to buy a new rental house or somethin'.
You know how much money cost to borrow in the late 1970's? Damn near twenty-****in'-percent...

                    Don't believe the hype...
