Yup. Mayweather would have still won Hatton had zero headmovement.

    Cortez had a shocker.

Mayweather would've got battered inside 4 if the ref allowed in-fighting, Hatton was too vicious for him.

Cortez saved Mayweather repeatedly by running in.

The fight would have had a similar outcome. Maybe now with Mayweather sr. Hatton can move his head a bit more for defense and pressure Floyd better............................................ .................................................. ............................He still gets KOed though.

I heard the British commentators say in the Malignaggi fight that Hatton would have gotton beat by Floyd if his dad was ref.

I'm a big fan of Hatton though but supported Mayweather that night!
Yeah but you could argue that Mayweather was allowed to land those punches more freely by the constant breaks in the action. The fight was fought at his pace, from his range. In actual fact, Mayweather was doing some good work on the inside so Cortez was ****ing things up for both guys and ****ing up a potentially great fight.

You could also say Hatton was desperate......which he clearly was. Leaping in with left hooks. You're more likely to get KOed.

It's an excuse,Cortez was the same ref in the hatton-castillo fight and he refed both fights the same imo.

I think it would be a stretch to suggest that Cortez had no influence on the fight. The result would in all likelihood have been the same but Cortez definitely influenced the fight and took all of the weapons away from one fighter.

A good referee is not worthy of mention. Cortez is a headline grabbing referee.
