liddell isn't heavy handed at all. he just throws alot of punches and he has a long reach. the reason he was so good is because 100% of his wins were against guys who couldn't punch at all and he had good take down defense. all his loses came against guys who could punch(Rampage twice, Jardine, Evans).Comment

Obviously none of these fighters would be even close to world champions in boxing, but they are the best that MMA has to offer...
I agree that Penn is probably the most polished boxer right now.
Sergei Kharitonov was pretty impressive in his prime:
Again, certainly not on the level of top boxers (especially in terms of defense) but he had some amateur boxing experience and can dispatch most MMA fighters on his feet.
He tried to get into the Russian Olympic Boxing team but got injured in the semi finals. Instead he competed for Tajikistan in 2003 at the Central Asian Games where he won a silver medal. Kharitonov earned a shot at that year’s Olympics, representing former Tajikistan but passed on the chance to instead fight in the Pride 2004 Heavyweight Grand Prix.
In the fall of 2004 he competed in the Russian Boxing Championship and placed second. Sergei could not fight in the final match due to an injury.Comment

thats cos marcus davis used to be a pro boxer, chris lytle was too. anderson silva had a couple of pro fights and got his ass kicked, the only reason he's an exceptional mma striker is his ability to mix it up (punches, kicks, knees, elbows). GSP is my pick, he trains at Howard and Otis Grant's gym in Montreal, i've heard he gives their boxers fitsComment

He got TKO's in his first fight actually. You do realize that that was over 10 years ago. His striking has improved drastically since then. Does it make more sense to vote for a guy who never fought in a pro boxing match because he didn't get knocked out?LOLComment
