The wbo warned williams he would be stripped if he didn't defend his title and still went up to fight verno. He pretty much vacated his only bargaining power he had at 147 to fight verno and verno got stripped as well. It's really unexplainable.

hmm... didn't know verno got stripped. in anycase it hopefully w/ set paul up for fights at 154 and 160 which is what the verno and kolle fights were. I'm glad he dropped the WBO belt... its worthless.

Oh, I didn't know what you were getting at. It does seem like he was only interested in fighting Margarito in the WW division. He should have gone after Clottey or Berto IMO. Then eventually, he and Antonio would fight again.

Berto won't fight him cause of Dibella. There is people out there that would fight him, but like you...he only wants Margarito. He should of chased other top WWs, even if they don't have a belt.

He couldn't get a fight with any of the top fighters. Even if he's fighting at Welterweight, he won't make much fighting bums. He had a chance to get a belt at 154. Why not?

That is spot on! It makes no sense. It's obvious that he was only willing to kill himself to make WW if Tony would fight him. He should have fought a rubber match with Quintana for the interim. It seems he is impatient.

Like me? For the record, I'm not even a Williams fan. I would have been happy to see him fight anyone at WW but I will admit, I really want to see a rematch between Marg and Wills. Margarito would whoop his ass IMO. Did you mean "like I said?"

Yes PW is impatient. Tony kept fighting top guys and it finally paid off, I think PW should of followed that example and not just concentrate on one person.
