That's a good question. Is he leaving for good? I was under the impression that he was just keeping busy, much like he did when he fought the bum at 160. I think Williams should stay at WW if he can still make weight. He ain't nothing special but his size advantage carries him at WW. He needs to develop an effective jab and fight like the tall guy that he is if he wants success at 154 and 160.

While I have never heard of Williams having problems making the WW limit, it is hard for me to believe otherwise.

Without that belt he holds no weight in negotiations with margarito. I really think he gave up and just decided to move on and stop trying to make 147. Look at 154, top guys are sergie, santos, verno. None of those fights are bigger than a mosley, clottey, cintron, quintana fight. IT really doesn't make sense and I don't know how someone can find a reason for it other than he doesn't want to keep making 147 unless it's for margarito.

He pretty much vacated his only bargaining power he had at 147 to fight verno and verno got stripped as well. It's really unexplainable.

That is spot on! It makes no sense. It's obvious that he was only willing to kill himself to make WW if Tony would fight him. He should have fought a rubber match with Quintana for the interim. It seems he is impatient.
