Miranda before the Pavlik fight and the Miranda after it are two different guys, he lost his fearlessness. Now he's afraid of the big shots since Kelly wiped the floor with him.
Your so biased you cant see the ******ty in your argument. AA has never ducked anybody, how can anyone blame him for trying to unify with Sturm in a huge MW fight. If you followed the negotiation you would know that had Pavlik not lost to Bhop AA-Pavlik was being planned for jan/feb. What threw the fight off was pavliks loss and Arums decsison to fight Rubio next, not because AA wanted sturm. AA wanted sturm because the Pavlik fight was no longe plausible and Sturm was claiming to be the best mw and talking **** abot beating aa. BTW who are these elite American MW you speak of?

Mikkel Kessler. He's arguably the most protected at this point because he is an exceedingly good fighter who could certainly beat those he's avoiding, and yet he is still fighting nobodies.

Obviously, he took on Calzaghe and should get credit for that. I'm just talking about the way he's been handled after that fight.

Khan, and he still got KTFO

and at the top, top level i'm tempted to say Hatton is in respect to his whole career (and don't mention the Mayweather fight, as that was a win-win situation - as is a De La Hoya or Pacman fight - in fact his whole career is manufactored towards those fights)

I don't think he was being well protected when they matched him with an unknown columbian with crazy power. They protected him pretty well before then, though.

I still think Willy Limond, Graham Earl are pretty good domestic fighters. Even though Limond was a smaller guy and Earl was shot to pieces.

Gary St Clair was a decent test.

Let's be fair.......in 18 fights and at 21 years of age. That is still decent at the very least acceptable.
