Its easy, you dont fight them again. If you are scared to fight a legitimate contender its ducking whether you've fought them before or not.

UHG! I hate to take sides on this argument....
Its really simple, Williams actually defeated Margarito, Margarito JUST NOW gained the respect of one of the truly elite fighters in the boxing world. For him to not rematch the man that had beaten him just a year before his big homecoming, IMO, is worse than the case of Floyd not fighting Tony.
Mayweather was the number 1 P4P fighter in the world moving up to WW, Tony was a random alphabet champ at the time. Rather than fight the WBO champ, Floyd went with the recently dethroned Ring Champion, and right on to the current and defending Ring Champion, in Judah and Baldomir respectively.
It made complete sense for Mayweather to fight Judah and Baldomir at the time, both were ranked well above Tony at the time, Tony frankly was not on Floyd's radar. Tony choosing not to take a fight with the man who defeated him one year prior is a completely different story.
