Who defends Marg's decision to fight Mosley instead of Williams?

Im just curious to know how fighting Mosley for $2mil makes more sense from both a monetary standpoint and a legacy standpoint, rather than rematching Williams for $4mil and a chance to redeem himself.

I've seen a few diehard Margarito fans try and defend this decision, and i just dont see how you can. I like both Marg and Williams, and would love to see a rematch to show who's the true 147lb champ.

I dont even think Arum would pay Margarito that much money ($4mil) to rematch Cotto.

Arum controls Rito and we can never be sure about the $4 million dollars offer until we all see the offer tabled.

the 4mill offer is bs! and how much of that would margarito make if it was?

second what makes williams the #2 ww? how is he better and more accomplished than cotto, clottey, or shane mosley?

Why did williams turn down the immediate rematch?

How much do u think he'll see from the $2mil purse that he's recieving to fight Mosley? Surely not $2mil. He'll be lucky if he clears a mil after taxes and expenses.

When do us fans ever see ANY offer tabled? I know Goosen went on the record during an interview to say that he offered $4mil for the rematch.

If the $4mil offer is legit like Goosen said it was, then he'll surely see more than he would see for fighting Mosley. Why are u so against a Marg/Williams rematch? This would be great for boxing and its fans.

if goosen said he was your dad would you believe him? Team margarito have gone and record and said goosen is full of **** and that they never got an offer sheet from goosen. It's all internet games it's pretty sad that people are too blind to see that. Arum even wrote a letter to goosen telling him to shut up they will not look at any proposals for a margarito fight. No offer sheet was ever sent.

                  i don't mind marg's decision.

his last fight was against the #1 in the division.

the fight before that was against another top 10 level opponent.

the man is entitled to a tuneup if he wanted......but instead he's fighting also another top 10 opponent.

fact is shane is a bigger name for marg's resume and legacy than paul williams who is still quite unproven and shane is still probably more money.

if marg doesn't fight paul in another year or two then talk.

right now , marg is doing what is best for his career. money-wise , shane and miguel get priority. even legacy-wise beating shane and beating miguel again problem does more for his resume than paul.

Gossen offered $4 million then he wanted 50 percent of the profits.

He didnt' just say I'll pay him $4 million.

Now Arum gets that $4 million and he has to decide how much he is going to pay Margarito.

Unlike when Gossen offered Margarito $1.2 million to fight Williams and Goosen promoted the show.
