Maybe so, I still don't really like him as a referee though, Pat Russell does better jobs to me.
    I retract my statement.

Raheem has just slipped like a million times in one round, and asked the referee to wipe the ring off twice, and he just ignored it.

Maybe he's never a factor because he just never does anything in the ring?

BTW Morales should of lost to Guty Espadas first time around

i dont think Pac should get much credit at all for beating Morales when you watch the Raheem fight you can see by a mile that Morales legs have completely gone his balance is horrible in that fight

Yeah, he just makes these mistakes and ignores things he's supposed to do. You could be right, that's why he's never a factor.

I just made a thread about Pacquiao-Morales II.

I STILL don't see the controversy in Espadas I. Morales was keeping up about even, and he's clearly the harder puncher. None of the rounds were really dominated by Espadas other than the 12th, and maybe one other one.

The way people were talking before I saw the fight made me think I was going to be watching Castillo-Mayweather I. It actually was a lot closer to De La Hoya-Whitaker IMO.

The decision in the first Barrera fight was MUCH more questionable IMO.

I still would take him over one of those douche referees who have to make a big deal out of nothing in a clean fight.

Ignoring bad things is better than making a big deal out of nothing...

That sounds all wrong, but in boxing refereeing, that kind of makes sense.

i agree it was a very close fight but i thought Espadas probably won it by 1 round he did throw and land more punches aswell

Maybe I had my biased glasses on, but... I thought Morales's looked more effective at times where they needed to be, which won him enough rounds to get the nod IMO.

Too many close rounds in that fight for people to make such a huge deal out of it.

If Espadas clearly won a like 4 or 5, instead of 2, rounds, I might be more inclined to buy into this, but...

I don't know, that fight didn't look like a robbery to me.

i thought Morales landed more effectively when he did throw but he was too inactive for me and allthough Espadas was not landing the cleaner shots he was throwing more and pressing the action too

when Lederman has the fight even you know it was damn close cause he tends to score very heavily in terms of clean effective punching and even he had the fight a draw

its could gone either way it was not a robbery or anything and it was not a clear decision for either man but i felt at the least Espadas did not deserve to lose his title,Morales made up for it in the rematch thats for sure
