Lot of hate here I see. Let me chime in a bit.

1. Top Rank didn't force Margarito to fight Paul Williams the first time. Margarito chose to fight Paul Williams instead of Cotto, because P.Will was his mandatory and he didn't want to be stripped of the belt. Margo had the option of fighting Cotto, but chose to wait.

2. Margarito fights Cintron before fighting Cotto. You guys realized Margarito had already destroyed Cintron before right? There was no risk in this fight for him. This isn't any different than Cotto fighting Gomez. Gomez at least had more name recognition than Cintron, which is why Cotto is earning $3mil. He's fought more fighters that fans know about.

3. Margarito fighting Mosley before Cotto. He's getting one of his best pay days and should he lose it still won't affect another fight with Cotto in the summer. So it's a win win situation for Margarito. Cotto on the other hand, has to get a winnable fight because another loss will cost him the rematch.

The Jennings fight is an excellent fight for Miguel Cotto after coming off a knockout loss. He gets $3mil, a chance for a title, and low risk. Hating on this when you guys know he's got a tough fight coming up should he win, is insane.
