I think you can make a fair argument for him being #6 at highest. Fought 4 times this year. 3 KO/TKOs, including champions @147 and 154 one of whom have never been stopped. He was #10 in the Ring last week, and you can definitely make a case for him passing Cotto or Margarito in p4p when they only fought 2 times this year. 3-1>1-1 with win over Gomez.

Based on activity, knocking out 2 champions, it is perceivable since he did crack #10 last week. I don't know yet where I will place him yet but I can understand if someone put him that high. My explanation should make sense. Where would you put him after this recent win?

keep in mind p4p is all about opinions so they will vary. Pwill fought 4 times which is good and dandy but just because you fight 4 times doesn't mean you deserve p4p rankings. He lost his very first fight of the year which also happened to be his first ever title defense he came back and won a rematch and then beat kolle and verno. Is that p4p material? I mean do you really think that high of quintana, kolle, and verno? In my opinion A cintron and cotto victory are better than all of williams wins this year. If you want to argue against cotto you can say well he only beat gomez and lost to margarito. but cotto was still highley regarded as boxings next superstar and was the clear #1 ww in the world. And he gave a great fight and really doesn't lose much creditibility in his loss to margarito.

the 154 division is a very weak division right now! Cotto, Margarito, and williams can beat every single guy at 154. It has some potential though. Kirkland, vanes, chavez jr, and angulo are all promising prospects and should bring some action to the division if not next year the following year for sure!!
Cotto couldnt even beat a big 147 pounder and Marg failed twice at 154.

They cant beat the 154 pounders.

            Williams can.

this is why i hate some pwill fans. Tell me who at 154 compares to margarito that would give cotto the same trouble. and please watch the santos fight so you don't look like a fool. I'll bump my fight video thread for you. That thread was made just for people like you.

Williams problem is he is doing too much weight division jumping. If he settled into one division, and concentrated on that division for a bit, the fights will come to him. I hope he sticks to 154 for a while as there are some good fights there for him.

It is almost like he is caught in no mans land. His feet are not planted anywhere so anyone who considers him risky can just wait a month and he'll be gone anyway.

HBO seems to be paying attention to him now so he might get the good fights soon. I like Williams, but all this internet posturing he and goossen are doing is ****ing irritating. They are trying to take shortcuts by using the media.

He should stay at SW for a bit, fight Santo's and Quintana again while Margarito does his stuff, then call for a fight.

HBO then may be able to use their pull to make the fight happen.

dandy lol. but part of p4p means at the same size/weight how you compare to the next fighter. and cintron has to to have some of the worst footwork and technical boxing ability i've seen recently. roger mayweather said cintron cant even spell box, lol. and cotto was stopped by marg something he didn't do to clottey in the win so i think it takes some away from him. so are you saying you would put williams past cotto now? and being #10p4p before the phillips win he has to move up past other fighters.

the mora that beat forrest is the same that lost to him, forrest overtrained. dlh is closer to shot then phillips and will do things similar to forbes but with more power. those prospects are on the rise but i doubt all of them beat phillips he can take advantage of their youth. and phillips was taking big shots look at the last 30 seconds of the fight, the punisher was mad.
