I agree with this to a certain point but does fighter have to be post 1990 to get any respect from you? I mean calling Carlos Monzon a joke is just pure ignorance. Have you ever seen him fight or did you just check his record at boxrec?

current fighters get lots of respect, but they gotta show they bring something special to the sport in the ring.

      Morales
      Tszyu
      Barrera
      Pacquiao
      and many others

get lots of respect because of their accomplishments and the fighters they have beaten. So Vitali Klitschko gets no respect because he beat an over-weight semi-retired golfer to win the championship. Big deal there are many years ahead of him to prove himself.

I've never had any respect for acquitted's opinion and posts like this one are the reason why.

This guy could use a labotomy. It would probably improve his intelligence.

I think the problem with todays fighters is that they are all so much stronger that anyone really can get knocked out, especially in the heavyweight division!!! This is why you will see a bum knockout someone who is supposed to be up and coming!!! Almost all heavies have a punchers chance!!!

Most current fighters would beat most past fighters but thats only because today they have better training and nutrition. If you took them and trained them the way they train now they would be just as good. For example, I think Tyson 80s would beat Foreman 70s, but if you take Foreman and put him in the same time and train him accordingly, then you got a good fight.

This applies to everybody except Hagler...he fades everybody from the past and present. Then he goes to the future and whoops everybody too.

Now that's just silly. I believe Mr. Toney and Mr. Hopkins would take exception to that comment.
