i was wondering is that the case with ppl on this foreman..because fighters today (better stronger) get no respect from u ppl...1 guy started a thread about greatest middleweights ever...carlos monzonn and henry greb who both are a joke..were mentioned and not roy jones; carlos monzon fought only argentinas..i doubt argentinas were or ever been the best group of fighters in the world..then a guy started a topic about hardest hw hitters of all time...david tua wasnt even mentioned..yet dempsey was ..if tua fought in dempsey era with those gloves..im prett dam sure every opponent he fought would be out on streches unless they stopped it early same with LEWIS IBEAUCHI V.KLITCHKO W.KLITCHKO

the only good respectable fight roy jones jr. faught was as a heavyweight.
    he should of stayed there.
coming back down he lost all that weight which in turn was muscle and it fu..cked him up and perhaps ruined his career

        Get used to it!!

I choose not to talk about the older fighter too much, its hard to prove a point so i only mention the older fighters if i strongly believe in something.

There are two types of people who talk about past fighter.

People who really like/respect the past fighters - which is cool.

        and

People who talk about the past fighters because they know the is no chance of being proved wrong - which is ****ing weak!!!

Excellent post Aquitted!!! Todays boxers do not get the respect they deserve. Hail to Ruiz, Brewster, Byrd, and Meehan some of the greatest and unappreciated HW's of all time!!! They would have wooped most of the fighters of the past because they are bigger and stronger.

i grew up watching hagler, leonard,jc chavez and tyson.
the knowledge i have for the older fighters comes from a hunger to learn the sport which i love.
i may not have seen them fight in their prime but i have read books watched videos and bought classic fights since i was 12.
just to get my own opinion about these fighters.
my father always told me not to listen to other peoples opinions untill you have your own.
                  and thats my philosophy,
i would not talk about a fighter i have not seen.
i would listen to other peoples opinions then research the fighter they talk about and only then would i comment.
i do believe that it does not matter how old you are
                  coz i'm only 26
it comes down to how much you want to learn.
the more people who want to learn about the sport the brighter the future looks.
