Jermain Taylor Eyes Carl Froch vs. Jean Pascal Winner

Well i didn't think Taylor was ducking Froch, but he said he wouldn't come to England to fight him.
Why not?
You want the belt, you go to the champ! Taylor needs to get his passport out.
I don't think he well though. The Brit will have to do the chasing as usual.Comment

Trust me...I'm fully understand that he could have fought for a title but why take a chance to blow it when dont know if he was ruined by the two defeats...Its always good to take a on a average fighter to gain some confidence back. (just my opinion)
I wasnt talking about you but some posters on here thought Taylor ducked Froch (F-K-R-O, Kriss, and some other posters) and as far as Taylor going to England to fight Froch...I guess time will tell...Me as a fan of the sport would love to see him travel but I cant speak for everyone else.Comment

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions here about the content of this article...
1. The article gives no evidence in the form of quotes from Taylor or DiBella that he is eyeing the winner of the Froch/Pascal fight. The last solid quote from DiBella was that a Pascal fight in Montreal was possible but if Froch were to win, Taylor would not be going to the UK.
2. The article quotes Taylor as saying he wants a belt, but he doesn't specify which belt he will go after. For starters, DiBella has acknowledged that he has been talking to Bute's people, and we know he holds the IBF strap.
Since there is no new information in Mark Vester's article to support that Taylor/Froch would happen were Froch to beat Pascal, I think it's premature to assume anything at this point.
For the record, here is the text of the ArkansasSports360.com article that Vester cites (notice it doesn't mention Froch or Pascal):
Jermain Taylor returned to the bread-and-butter style that put him on top of the middleweight division before he ran into hard-punching Kelly Pavlik. In his first fight in nine months, he jabbed Jeff Lacy relentlessly and dominated nearly every round of the 12-round fight in Nashville, Tenn., in an easy decision in a fight in the 168-pound weight class.
A few days after the fight, back home in Arkansas, Taylor recognized the bout as a must fight. "I saw how important this fight was and how I had to win," he said, noting the less-than-stellar surroundings of fighting, not in a casino town like Las Vegas but at Vanderbilt University's Memorial Gymnasium, with a weigh-in held in a classroom. "I knew that if I didn't win that fight, I'd be fighting in small places."
But, Taylor said, he planned to go on fighting regardless. And now, with his first win in nearly two years, he said, "Tell everybody in Little Rock I don't plan to stop until I get the title back."
Taylor said he felt like his training camp in Miami proved that he could get in any shape, at any weight required, for whatever fight awaits - be it back at the 160-pound middleweight level to regain that lost title, or to try for a super-middleweight crown.
There were talks even of Taylor taking on unbeaten light-heavyweight champ Joe Calzaghe, the Welshman who indicated that his last fight, a blitzing of an over-the-hill Roy Jones Jr., would be his last.
We know how boxing retirements tend to go these days.
Some boxing experts even tossed out the idea of another Taylor-Bernard Hopkins fight. Taylor gave Hopkins two of his three losses he's suffered this decade, the other coming at light-heavyweight to Calzaghe.
Taylor said he would take on anyone. This time, unlike when he was reigning supreme in as a champion, he didn't include the disclaiming "if the money is right."
Now, just as it seemed on his way up, to Taylor it seems about the fighting.

Too much is put on the fighters' shoulders in these situations when in fact promoters and cable television have most of the control.
Do you believe that Taylor fought Lacy, who prior to the fight he described as the hardest hitting man he knew, because he was scared of Froch?
And before you claim that Taylor himself said Lacy was the lesser challenge, remember that it was Dibella who said that, not Jermain.Comment
