Jermain Taylor Eyes Carl Froch vs. Jean Pascal Winner

Former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor is very interested in the final result of the upcoming bout between Carl Froch and Jean Pascal, taking place on December 6. A few weeks ago, Taylor made his super middleweight debut and beat up former Olympic teammate Jeff Lacy to earn the nunber one ranking under the WBC at 168. Froch and Pascal, both unbeaten, will clash for the vacant WBC title at 168. Taylor called the Lacy win the most important of his career. [details]

He shoulda fought Froch the belt ahead of Lacy, but now he's smart to go after the Froch-Pascal winner. Focus on that instead of goin after Joe C at 175.

I like Froch, he's both a good fighter and seemingly a pleasant, modest guy but he is delusional about a fight with JC; I don't know why he still keeps going on about it. If he beats Pascal, which I think he will, Taylor would be a good match up and test for both of them.

Froch should see Pascal off, so i just hope Taylor signs to fight him next year. The risk factor will be gone with the WBC title on the line, so if Taylor want to be seen as a prominent player at 168/175, he has to beat the top men to do that.

Taylor would hold major advantages going into a fight with either men, so a loss would surely put an end to his career. The problem for Froch is, he's no spring chicken, and if the first defense is against Taylor, in which he is most likely to lose (although a stoppage in Froch's favour is unlikely), that could end his hunt for another title shot.

            War Froch!!

At least he would probably get a descent payday against Taylor .

Yup. The 'at home' Froch seems very different from the self-promoting arrogant version. There was a great extended interview with him on ITV 4 (UK) last night.

Froch came across well in the build-up to his fight with that average polish fighter.

                  I don't think he's an arse.
