Khan and Hatton are elite athletes and are here to make $$$
Khan is not an elite level athlete as a professional. As an amateur he was absolutely. There is not more elite for an amateur boxer than the Olympics. But as a professional he just isn't. An elite pro boxer is a step above a world title holder, they are the name guys who don't need the belts. They are your Hattons, your Pacquiaos, your Hopkins, your Calzaghes. Khan was not even close to a world title.
Hatton could probably have Khan out of there in the first round unless Amir chose to run and run.
Hatton isn't in the same league as Pacquaio, Hopkins, Calzaghe etc.
People are getting extremely carried away with the Malignaggi fight.
Ring Mag has him top 10 P4P that puts him in those people's league.
His only loss is to the P4P no1.
Let me put it in terms Khan would understand.
Ricky Hatton is a perenial Champions league Quarter finalist who if he has a good run might reach the final
Amir Khan is Bolton Wanderers, relegation struggler in a national league who if he goes down might never come back up again, and he's just got relegated last fight.
Khan may have more KO power than Paulie but not by much.... Amirs only stopped people, never KOed. If amir got beat by a nobody in 54 secs of round 1 cause he got hit flush then Hatton would torture him! Amirs real easy to hit...
