how would Oscar have gotten on with a prime Chavez ,Whitaker

how would Oscar have gotten on with a prime Chavez ,Whitaker if they fought at a catch weight

the fight with Whitaker was very close infact it is still debatable whether he beat an out of prime older whitaker and Chavez kinda changed his style after the Randall defeats cause he was on the slide, he was not as aggressive as before and he would back up more instead of come foward

    what do you think

Whitaker would have beaten him at any weight at his best.
Chavez would have beaten him no doubt at 130 and 135lbs, 140 would be closer and 147+ would be a toss up.

Oscar was always way too big for Chavez. Chavez would never be able to fight his style of fighting against De La Hoya and win. In the second fight Oscar stood right in front of him and ****** with him, fighting Chavez's fight. He made Chavez quit.

Whitaker is a different story and would have beaten him 9/10 times, without any scoring errors being a factor that is. Whitaker's awkward movement is just no good for him.

yeah im leaning towards a ODLH win over Chavez but not Whitaker

that ODLH was pretty much as good as it gets but we know Whitaker was past his best and he still nearly won the fight infact some people think he was robbed

Chavez naturally smaller man would have had to eat some leather still against a hard punching Boxer puncher who was a fairly good counter puncher on the backfoot or the front foot

I think he beats prime Chavez, because style wise Oscar is too much for him. Whitaker could beat Oscar to comfortable UD or at least SD.

Chavez had over 100 fights by the 2nd De La Hoya fight and was 36, which is pretty old for someone with his style. he was clearly not the same fighter at that point.

the first fight was simply unfair because Chavez had bad cuts suffered in training that opened up in the first round. not that he would have beaten De La Hoya at that point in his career anyway.
