I was surprised to find out he's only 27, for some reason I always thought he was older. Paul Williams has a good record and from what I've seen looks good. He defeated Margarito, yet Margarito has gone on to become the more successful boxer, most notably defeating Cotto, now Margarito's name is put out there for superfights where as Williams is stuck in the background. There's a lot of talk on here about Williams but the casual fan probably wouldn't know who Williams is! I know he lost to Quintana but he avenged that loss! True champions are those that can take defeat and come back stronger from it. Anyway my question is why isn't Williams name up there being talked about for super fights? Doesn't Margarito want to avenge his loss?
What's Up With Paul Williams?

He's fighting Verno Phillips for the WBO interim 154-lb title tomorrow. Don't know what time the weigh-in is for that fight though. -
Margarito has put in ten times the work Paul has. Had Margarito taken the Cotto fight first, which would have been his prerogative, Paul would still be unknown.
Paul needs to start worrying about fighting anyone not named Antonio Margarito.Comment

Look, I know that you're a bit slow and you can't help it.
I've said it numerous times.
I'll say it again.
The match I covet most is Paul Tony II.
Paul denied an immediate rematch.
Tell him to go through some other welters as Tony did when Floyd refused him.
It hasn't hurt Tony at all now has it?
It wouldn't hurt Paul either.Comment

He's an anomaly. Beat the guy whom is the super champ at welter weight, is high in the p4p rankings.
He seems to be ducked a little but I wonder how much of it is the teams.
One has to be impressed with whom he's willing to take on though, and moving around the weights. I just worry it might have some real negative effects on his body.Comment
