    In the real world, it's not nearly as important as they want you to think it is. When was the last time you saw a PPV or HBO fight advertised for the "Ring Magazine championship"? I mean the magazine itself is owned by a damn promoter.

        I don't think so. Of the current Ring champions which do you think lacks credibility? I think it's testimony to the credibility of the Ring title that there are only six champions at present; the rest are vacant. Compare that with the aforementioned alphabet soup.

          The fight isn't promoted as such as Ring has no monetary interests. But the winner of a fight is called the Ring champion.
