I fully understand why margarito isnt fighting williams, it has everything to do with maximizing your cash, which i fully support him doing, the problem isnt about resumes or any other ****, its the fact that this guy BEAT HIM, and hes asking for a rematch or pracitcally begging. Now the arguments about whos worth more, who beat who, who is on whos resume, is alot like how the floyd/margarito arguments ruined this board for a whole year. Now the tables are turned and its the margarito contingent doing the same thing, with the exact same justifications. Personally, i dont care about paul williams, hes not my kind of fighter and neither is margarito. But the arguments about self worth, resumes, money percentages and de la hoya fights are exactly what margarito fans whined of years ago. That margarito wasnt the kind of fighter who cares about those things, posters like hendrixlove and ferocity argued from the opposite spectrum for YEARS, and now the tables have turned and margarito is just as buisness minded as anyone else, which i dont have a problem with.

I just find it great that now margarito knows how it feels to have to pick and choose, now he knows everyone wants a piece of him, and just like mayweather jr, he is intelligently weighing his options, risk vs reward.

The thing is, we didint think margarito was this kind of fighter as he was sold to us, hes just like everyone else, which is ok to me, but still hypocritical from some of the posters who i know for a FACT despised all of this back in late 05/06 when the arguments and tables were turned, which to me, shows that people stances on issues change with whomever someone is a fan of, not because they actually believe it.

That doesn't make anything similar to Floyd.

Ok, so Margarito won't fight Paul. there are a lot of guys who have the good since not to fight guys that might be dangerous. cotto should have never gave Margarito a shot but he did, even though he didnt need to. guys like paul and Margrito who are that big and hide themselves at 147 dont realy warrant any chances. Let them do what paul is doing right now and go up in weight and watch the fights open up. both Paul and Margrito should be middle weights anyway if they had real heart.(the nights they show up to fight they are at 160 any way)

There a whole bunch of **** talking in this weight division. It's just getting old. For the record, THERE IS NO "BEST WELTERWEIGHT!" On any givin night one could beat the other. Welterweight is the most intriguing division and out of all the fighters Cotto seems to be the only one who is willing to fight anybody and without the **** talking too. There's no excuses with this guy. He just fights. The others just need to do the same and let their actions speak louder than there words.

I believe Margarito was mandated by the IBF to fight Paul or have his belt stripped. Margarito was IBF champion at the time and didn't want to lose the title. He was right. He lost. Margarito didn't want to fight Paul cause they had sparred before and Paul schooled him. Paul knew he could win. Anyways, they fought and thats when Paul became champion; who lost to Quintana.

I agree. I can't believe the size of these guys at ww. I didn't notice the size difference until Cotto and Margarito stepped into the ring together. Margarito needs to move up in wieght and fight someone his own size. Margarito should rematch Santos at Jr. Middle.

Where is the post? I'm still waiting. I don't expect you to believe anything. Arum's letter was posted on Yahoo Sports. I guess it's a big conspiracy. Williams has so much reach that a billion dollar corporation like Yahoo just created a rejection letter because they have something against Margarito. There would have been a lawsuit filed already.
