The Time is Right For a Floyd Mayweather Jr. Return

He's not a real WW himself ****er! I hate when people act as if PBF is a true WW he's not! He's a flyweight who was at his best at 135. PERIOD. The rest is a bonus. Margarito has a loss for Williams and he needs to fight him and leave PBF alone. I'd love to see him fight Pacquiao though.Comment

If it did happen, it will be at 147. Why would it go below that if this fight with Pac vs. Goldy is going to be at that weight, 147?
Floyd isn't going to risk taking off weight and no sense for Pac to do it either. Both fighters can come in healthy at 147 because there will be no weight-drain weigh-in.Comment

its clear that there are 2 tiers in boxing...
the superstars (dlh, pbf, pac, hatton) and the rest. It seems likely that hbo will push the superstars to have a round robin.Comment

I don't think Floyd is making a comeback until I see his ass in the ring. It'll be intereting to watch who he fights.Comment

Great Post!! Whether you love or hate him, Floyd brings personality to boxing which is what it is lacking right now imo. The only guys that come close are Miranda and Mayorga, however they have been relegated to journeymen status. There is also David Haye who has potential, but I see him suffering the same fate as the previous two since he won't be able to beat either of the Klitschkos. Floyd is the only superstar that has this qualityHonestly, it was watching the Jones-Calzaghe and now Pacquiao-DLH 24/7's that made me realize how much I miss Mayweather. I can't stand the dudes trash talk and arrogance but it finally hit me that it's all for show. Mayweather made 24/7 awesome. He knows how to hype a fight. Admit it. Perhaps he can't always deliver a knockout or fight in the same ****y arrogant fashion as he talks but regardless he gets peoples interest in a fight. I watched his fights always hoping to see him get knocked out cold and it just wouldn't happen which would build my hopes up even more for the next time he fought. Funny thing is now I am truly a fan of his. I've always admired and been in awe of his skill in the ring but have just recently come to appreciate his salesmanship outside of it. I really hope he comes back and I think the people who despise him hope he does too. Boxing definitely needs a villian right now because it definitely makes the sport that much more fun and entertaining and right now no one else plays that role as good as Floyd. I still hope if he comes back that he fights the best to silence the critics but I'll admit that I'd be all for a Pacquaio-Mayweather tango. Either way, when and if he comes back, I'll be rooting for him.Comment

Floyd has made me shift thoughts quite many times. I went from thinking he was an arrogant sob to a real smart sob playing this "character" for marketability. Now and based on his latest interview I'm convinced he's a idiot and a big baby in many ways... But then again all he has to do is say something remotely smart to have me going again because i'm quite a fan (of the fighter Floyd). He can say "I will retire boxing, won't let boxing retire me" which is somewhat insightful (although very few stick with that) just as easily as he can say "De La Hoya, you're a *****, Hatton you're a *****, I have hockey bags, I have hockey bags!"Great Post!! Whether you love or hate him, Floyd brings personality to boxing which is what it is lacking right now imo. to the author of the piece: YOU'RE LAYING IT ON A LITTLE THICK. No, not the gravy, the **** turkey/Thanksgiving metaphors. Clearly you can write, don't sabatoge it by drowning us in forced metaphors. We know its ****ing thanksgiving weekend, we don't need to be reminded every other sentence.Comment
