Honestly, it was watching the Jones-Calzaghe and now Pacquiao-DLH 24/7's that made me realize how much I miss Mayweather. I can't stand the dudes trash talk and arrogance but it finally hit me that it's all for show. Mayweather made 24/7 awesome. He knows how to hype a fight. Admit it. Perhaps he can't always deliver a knockout or fight in the same ****y arrogant fashion as he talks but regardless he gets peoples interest in a fight. I watched his fights always hoping to see him get knocked out cold and it just wouldn't happen which would build my hopes up even more for the next time he fought. Funny thing is now I am truly a fan of his. I've always admired and been in awe of his skill in the ring but have just recently come to appreciate his salesmanship outside of it. I really hope he comes back and I think the people who despise him hope he does too. Boxing definitely needs a villian right now because it definitely makes the sport that much more fun and entertaining and right now no one else plays that role as good as Floyd. I still hope if he comes back that he fights the best to silence the critics but I'll admit that I'd be all for a Pacquaio-Mayweather tango. Either way, when and if he comes back, I'll be rooting for him.

Wow. I am not a "hater" but have no love whatsoever for the vulgar, shallow and without-an-ounce-of-class Floyd Mayweather. That said, this article makes perfect sense so props to the author. Floyd is a missing ingrediant on the scene.

Floyd is the Man
Hate him or love him but if you are more than a meathead I love guys who take flush shots Gatti type, you have to respect his talent. Floyd is a once in a generation fighter, total package... Much better than the best out there today... Calzaghe, Pacquiao and the rest... He is a defensive genius, unbelievable accurate, fast!!!!!, and able to innovate in the ring.. A true master.

PB's fights have all been frauds in recent years. To crow after beating the likes of Hoya, Gatti, Mitchell and Hatton would try the patience of intelligent people. But not this writer. He claims the Hoya/PB PPV was well worth the money and he never had a second thought about slapping leather for it.
As long as guys in his position keep lending their imprimaturs to mismatches and con jobs, you the fan are never going to see the fights you want to see and had ought to be able to see because they actually matter.
This writer has the churlishness to suggest that Mayweather can reclaim P4P #1 status with a win over the likes of Hoya or the miniature Pacquio. Maybe Lennox Lewis can come out of retirement and fight Calzaghe for current P4P honors. Makes about as much sense.
Mayweather can come out of retirement to show he is the best welterweight in the world by fighting Margarito, or he can stay retired as far as I am concerned. One more con job will not save boxing but further eviscerate it.
