Its the same reason many come online to talk about boxing because they dont have hardly any friends who even care about boxing. I have few friends who follow boxing and with how HBO puts PPV's together we definitely wouldnt buy every one.Comment

My experiences with Boxing PPV's
I don't got any friends who follow boxing.
but anyway since I use sopcast I'll chime my 2 cents in.
as for the ignorant "dude you guys act like $50 bucks is a lot of money" comment. Well $50 depends what we're talking about but considering im able to watch pro football, basketball, baseball and a majority of the college football/basketball seasons not to mention PLAYOFFS for all sports included all on network cable without the extra fees
then yeah compared to a $50 3 or 4 fight boxing card it's a huge rip off, IMO. and plus 2 months worth of $50 PPV's would be $100 and again IMO that's kinda crazy to pay for sports .. even if you are a die hard fan.
If I were spending $50 to $55 for boxing PPV's I'd be kinda embarrassed to be honest. it's not exactly chump change, and the NBA, NFL plus college sports air so many games on basic cable .. **** even Poker is free on TV. So why the almost unreasonable prices for boxing PPV's?
**most bars down here only show UFC .. and the closest one to me has no cover charge, talk about insane, lol.

"Bars have to pay an incredible amount of money to show PPV events. If they show them without paying the fees they get fined big and deep, and shut them off immediately (ala some streams on fight night).
I am very puzzled how people can go to sports bars for free and just watch any damn thing. I sure as hell haven't encountered it."
dude you guys act like $50 bucks is a lot of money. it's saturday night. what do you guys do saturday night. going to the movies will cost that much. taking a hoe out to dinner costs that much. going to a club and buying 6-8 dollar drinks is that much. you guys are whiners.[/QUOTE]

**and going to the movies isn't even close in price comparison to an HBO boxing PPV ... $10 tickets .. lets say ya go with some one else .. it's $20 .. buy some candy, popcorn, soda ... you'd max out at maybe $25-30 on the low end and $35 tops. vs that $55 boxing PPV of yours. You know what ima go to a movie in the next couple of days and give you a price comparison aight? I doubt what I spend will come anywhere close to $50-$55 though.
You are dead on about the 6-8 drinks at clubs .. those add up, lol.Last edited by MJ406; 11-27-2008, 07:12 PM.Comment
