He's pretty good. He beat some good guys. Adamek, Tarver, and Johnson are pretty good names and all were champs at one point or another.

He is the best at 175 with the exception of Calzaghe. He has consistently taken on the best the division has to offer in former champs, current champs and top contenders and has beaten them all very convincingly with the exception of Johnson, however I still believe he won that fight. He is on the brink of being in the top 10 fighters in the sport p4p. He is a top class fighter.

He's pretty good, he's fast, carries a good punch, uses combinations...

Just like any young fighter coming up, he still has a lot of room for improvement. Did good against Tarver...

I think that sums it up. He's a damn good fighter but Im not completely won over yet. But at least he wants to prove he's the best. And so far he's proven to be at or near the top of a pretty decent division. Well see how good he is if Hops or Joe decide to face him.

              I like Bad Chad.

Hes a ton of potential. If you don't see his potential to be great, your not watching.

He has some improving to do, but hes only 26.

He's not bad, but he's never fought a good opponent under age 39 except for Adamek who was having trouble making weight at the time.

He was supposed to be in an eliminator against Diaconu in early 1997 to decide who would fight Adamek, but he got out of it and went straight to fighting Adamek.

Then, in June of 1997, he was supposed to fight his mandatory Diaconu, but he chose a complete tomato can, Jesus Ruiz.

In September 1997, the mandatory fight between Diaconu and Dawson was cancelled because of an injury to Diaconu, so Dawson fought Mendoza.

Then, he got another exception from the WBC in early 1998 and fought Johnson instead of Diaconu.

Then he gave up his WBC title in June instead of fighting Diaconu, and went on to fight Tarver. No reason he couldn't have fought both Diaconu and Tarver this year.

Now he wants to fight another past-prime boxer, Joe Calzaghe, who cannot punch hard with his left anymore without hurting it.

He should fight his mandatory, Tavoris Cloud, or give Johnson a rematch, but he won't. He'll probably fight the shot old Tarver again, if he can't get the aging Joe Calzaghe.

it doesn't matter if dawson is that good, the fact that he is calz's #1 contender at lt HW is all the justification there is to make this fight. if calz retires, then all dawson has to do is fight the #3 or #2 guy to be the champ at lt. HW.

just because some say calz can beat dawson doesn't mean he doesn't have to fight dawson.

I'll also add that Dawson is not a big LHW, just a good one. Two years ago he was a super middle. He took one over the limit bout to stay busy and then received an offer to fight Eric Harding. The rest os history.
