This is probably the poll he was talking about, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes they are overated just as they are in other sports as well. IMO there only a few people in all sports no matter the generation that could actually compete on a elite level.

Jake hardly ever got knocked down as he just leant against the ropes whenever he was hurt... Besides he always got TKOed hardly ever lost on points.

He was TKO'd 4 times, once when he threw the fight against Billy Fox, once when he ran out of stamina against Ray Robinson in their sixth fight and twice retiring in his corner at the end of his career against Bob Murphy and Danny Nardico.

Ricardo Lopez had a much better resume at 51-0-1 but because he was a strawweight he goes unnoticed.

Some fighters I agree with, sugar ray robinson, muhamed ali etc, were both terrific fighters.

Thoughts? Don't forget these guys got on ATG lists... !?
I think the Heavy Weights of the past are WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY FUCKING overrated... But it's not just boxing.. Nostalgia seems to erase the flaws of history and paint everything a golden light.. Which is ******ed since human existence tends to be progressive..
