I feel two ways about this rematch...first off I Believe that there is possible that Mosely can upset Margarito, he simply has to stay the course and box, Shane has the ability to stick and move enough to win, he as done it half his career(if he decides to stand and trade he is in trouble) Cotto fought that style but was not used to fighting that style, he is a seek and destroy fighter who was trying to stick and move.

As for Cotto like I said before the Fan in me wants to see this warrior go at it and maybe come out with a different result...people on this site say Margarito destroyed him (basically those are the nut huggers). Fight of the year candidates arent destructions, theyre competitive fights(duh). A fight that is competitive means the fighters are close in ability.
But as a business man and for the haters Cotto should use his bigger name to fight everyone but Margarito, make him wait and see how much money he makes...lol. Then no matter what happens he can get paid again fighting Margaito.

nothing wrong w/ cotto losing twice to marg... sometimes another fighter just got your #... like pwill and santos got margs'.

Only way I can understand marg and cotto fighting if they both lose is because of the grudge match... that and mexicans and PRicans hate each other.

the difference btw. cintron and cotto, is that one ACTUALLY HAD SUCCESS during the fight w/ margo...in fact margo looked almost demoralized after the 6th round w/ cotto......cintron was a whole diff story, as there was nothing about him, or his ability, or anything he did against margo the first time to warrant a rematch. cintron wanted to avenge a lost, but there was nothing he did to suggest he could...two diff stories w/ cintron and cotto, as cotto at least has a blueprint of what he needs to do against margo to be successful. now, whether or not he can do it, we'll see....

if margarito loses there is no point.

Mosley/Cotto 2 doesn't make sense, and it wouldn't be for the ring title. The ring title has to be between the clear number one and number two.

If Margo beats Mosley and Cotto again, than Margo/PWill will be for the ring title.

yes. the ring title goes through PW...if mosley beats margo, it throws the division outta wack, cuz margo beat cotto-who beat mosley-but lost to margo-who mosley was able to beat....that's not enough to make mosley the consensus "ring" champ.....cuz then you got PW who also beat margo....wat a mosley win will do is kinda "force" the top guys to battle it out...there'll be no more ducking......i can almost imagine some kind of eliminator tournament going on for the "undisputed WW champ." that'd be great for boxing......and don't forget berto and clottey either....

Beating Mosley again will do nothing for Cotto.

PWILL is not "leaving" the division....he's just taking fights in other divisions until he can get big fights at WW. roy jones didn't lose his ring status when he moved to HW to fight ruiz....he came back down to LHW, and was still the man.....i guarantee you that if PWILL could get clottey, berto, mosley, cotto, or margarito to fight him, he'll hop his ass right back down to WW. he's just not putting all his stock into the division as far as big fights are concerned. he realizes that he may have to look for big fights in other divisions until the big names at WW are forced to deal w/ him.....

the difference btw. cotto and you guys, and cotto and most other boxers included for that matter, is that cotto has other things on his mind but money. he wants to fight margo again, not for the money but for pride, his legacy, and to avenge a lost. the reason he wont get the fight if he loses, is b/c there wont be much money in a rematch for MARGARITO, who clearly is fighting for money at this point

I think if Margo loses the rematch will happend, but it will be delayed, to the fall of 09 or mid 2010. If Mosley wins Cotto should fight Mosley in the Summer and then Williams or Clottey and then Margarito. It makes more money sense and legacy sense, in beating all those guys.But of course getting revenge for his loss make sense, but if Margarito loses the fight will lose some luster, and it wont be as atractive. It would be a similar situation as when Ali lost to Frasier and then Frasier lost to Foreman!!!

cotto has no problem in his next ring date but margarito. its almost a sure win for cotto against an unknown englishman but margarito would have his hands full with mosley. if margarito and cotto wins, the fight is sealed.

if the fight happens, it will be a repeat for margarito. only a divine intervention can saved cotto from his second loss in the hands of margarito.

nice thread for the morons who continue to say cotto is scared of margarito and ducked a rematch when in reality the only reason there was no rematch was because margs got caught and suspended this fight was going to occur but margarito and his trainer ****ed that up
