Hopkins is the best name on either resume I think. The Pavlik win shows that Hopkins isn't as old as we thought post-Calzaghe.

Please, for the love of god, do not ever say that the Jones who lost to Calzaghe is better than the 135 Castillo that Mayweather fought. That is absurd. That lightweight Castillo was one of the best fighters of the past 15 years... seriously. His resume is ridiculous, and he won almost every fight he had there. If he didn't, he usually avenged it in a rematch. Or, in the case of Mayweather, he has a terrific argument that he won the first fight.

    Hopkins 08 >>>> Castillo 02 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jones 08
The problem with the Castillo bouts, besides the fact that Castillo really won the first fight, is that those fights occurred many years ago. After that Mayweather opted to fight alot of lesser boxers to enhance his record. (Example...fighting Gatti instead of the undisputed 140 lbs champ Kostya Tszyu) Calzaghe, on the other hand, began his career with wins over great fighters and ended it with wins over great fighters....assuming he is at the end of his career. The only notable win that Mayweather can be credited with during the last third of his career is Oscar DeLeHoya and DLH although past his prime, gave Floyd one hell of a fight. Furthermore, DLH is no Bernard Hopkins. Never was. Never will be.

No. Floyd still has some work to do.

Hopkins beat on a guy moving up 10 pounds. Will Oscar get credit for beating Pacman as well. Yet you ignore the fact that Hopkins is 43, 7 years away from 50. The laughable fact is Hopkins is Calzaghes best win to date

Nothing laughable about beating Bernard Hopkins. I think Hopkins himself would take issue with what you just spewed.

The only ones that don't are fearful that you might lose. Now, I can understand why you don't want to take on Margarito. When he beats people, it's usually devastating. Of course you don't want to get brutally knocked out in front of the whole world. But, at some point you need to take one of the big boys, for the sake of your legacy. Don't you want to be considered "great?" You're almost there. A comeback against another weak opponent is no comeback at all. Do it right. Just do it baby....for boxing.

Yea because that Margarito win did Wonders for Paul Williams Career???
As soon as Williams beat Margarito, that didnt get Williams enough respect to even crack the ton ten p4p...and that was When Winky Wright was in the top 10.

And this was the Margarito would just beat undefeated Cintron and Clottey..
and was a champion for 5 straights years.... remember that Margarito...
"The most feared man" in the world Margarito...!!!

What did they say about Margarito after Williams beat him????

          Why so much hate?
And that was the nice guy Paul Williams who beat Margarito....

So imagine the excuse if Floyd( the bad guy) beat Margarito...

If Jose Luis Castillo can almost beat Mayweather i dont see why a much much bigger Margarito wouldnt be able to do the same.

Couldn't be this site or he'd be saying "I have the most haters in boxing... after Joe Calzaghe..."

Who was Calzaghe's first great win and who was his second? There was a long gap with substandard fighters.

And yes, recently, Joe's resume has been better than Floyd.

Originally though, the question was about resumes in general, not resumes in recent times.

You're a couple of years out of date, my friend. Margarito is the man now. Furthermore, NOBODY destroys Miguel Cotto. Certainly not Floyd Mayweather. Margarito did. Proof enough of Margarito's credentials.

Floyd could have a fight with Margarito if he wanted it. He just don't want it...AND FOR OBVIOUS REASONS!
