The fight with Hopkins had Oscar ahead on the score cards until he got stopped by that liver shot. The Mayweather bout was a SD, even though Floyd was technically superior at every point, still very impressive against the Pound for Pound best. The Tito fight was a bunch of bull****. The only fight I could think of that you could make an argument for is the first Mosley fight, Sugar was just better than Oscar that night, the rematch was much closer.

Verdict:Oscar hasn't been outclassed yet (unless you count the Hopkins KO).
He was winning the Hopkins fight until he took a dive. Sturm did outclass him, he said it in so many words himself

outclassed - decisively surpassed by something else so as to appear to be of a lower class

I don't know about you guys but for me if you were beaten, you were outclassed.

You honestly think that was a dive?

I don't know, it's hard for me to believe that is a constant today in the game like it was back in the 30's & 50's, Hops was just too big and strong for Hoya.

I disagree, not minding what the judges thought, the way I saw it had Sturm getting the best of Hoya up until the mid rounds, Oscar rallied and made it close enough not to consider it being outclassed. That's just my take on it.

So would you put the Gatti vs Mayweather bout in the same category as a De La Hoya vs Shane Mosley?

Mayweather pretty much outclassed him. It was a 9-3, 8-4 fight, and Oscar looked completely lost in the mid-late rounds

some people need to go back and rewatch that fight, lol.....Mosley won 7 rounds clear as day, but it lDe la Hoya was getting the better of it through 9 rounds...he payed a price in the later rounds for his bad gameplan and his distractions(aka his music album )...
