Antonio Margarito-Shane Mosley a Done Deal For January 24

Mosley didn't get less then a 50-50 split. HBO said they'd throw Margarito some extra dough for being the champion?? Sounds like more Bob Arum bull**** to me. Regardless, good fight. Margarito should win, Mosley is definitely past his prime. I think Margarito will put on too much pressure. Hilarious this fight isn't even PPV, it shows both guys can't draw worth a ****. I won't be shocked if Mosley wins either because he has a pretty good chin and is a lot faster then Margarito. That would set up a Cotto vs Mosley 2. Once again leaving Paul Williams the odd man out.

that would mean of the money HBO put out..its not an even split. HBO is paying margo MORE..

Why are they taking this bout to Vegas? when both fighters are from California sugar from Pomona and margarito Torrance but raised in TJ..I bet that if they made this fight happen at home depot or staples it will be a complete sale out!!! Margarito gets more crowd in LA...Puro Tijuana Putos!!

I dont believe I have ever heard of HBO giving a fighter an extra payment for being champion to get the champion to sign a contract. It sounds fishy to me. Maybe HBO has operated in this manner before, but I have never heard of this type of HBO dealings..

I love Mosley but I think he is going to get ****ed up by Margarito in this match. I hope that he doesn't think that because Hopkins won against Pavlik he is going to pull off the upset when he himself said after the Mayoraga fight that he didn't want to fight any of the young beasts in the crowded welterweight division,

i havent been on the forums for a while but i remember a thread back when this fight was discussed where people were sayin Margarito was duckin Mosley lol. Seriously people will find any reason to hate and make up a bunch of BS in the process. Margarito did the right thing by standing his ground trying to get more money. The fact he is the champ and it shouldnt be a 50/50 split its not like Mosley is some gigantic draw. Its still obviously split but at least HBO stepped up and gave Margarito more money!

why not? what a fighter uses for motivation is his own business....not too many ppl thought hopkins has a chance against pavlik, considering how "old" he looked in his previous tow fights....it was "if pavlik doesn't beat the **** outta hopkins, he'll win based on his activity alone..." if mosley uses that to motivate him, good for him....but he still has to fight the fight...

mosley wants big fights...if he said "he didn't want the young guns," im sure he meant up-and-coming fighters, b/c it wouldn't be anything in it for him....all the top fighters in WW are young uns compared to mosley, so im not sure about that comment, it makes no sense...

margarito got lucky.....i think mosley gave in after the berto negotiations fell through.....margarito would've been happy enough to wait 6 mos. for the cotto rematch, but mosley really had no other options after berto. he wasn't gonna fight clottey, and he damn sure wasn't gonna fight PW.....
