    is calzaghe's power underrated?

chris eubank: "that was the hardest i've ever been hit" - been in ring with a prime benn.

byron mitchell: "ive never been hit so hard and so fast in my career."

roy jones: "he punched harder than i thought he would."

        He obviously hits pretty hard.

What happens when you don't hit hard enough is what happened to Malignaggi. Calzaghe earns respect. Otherwise he'd be getting walked down, regardless of workrate.

What the haters just refuse to accept is that he DOES have power, its just he doesnt put anything on most of his punches because his hands are ruined. Im not saying he hits like a heavyweight, but he isnt a light puncher. He hit Jones with some hard shots.

Calzaghe just punches so much and from so many angles that his opponents don't see it coming. If he really had great power he should have knocked Roy out.

Not well at all. It would be disasterous.

it is underrated, if you look at some of his early fights/eubank/mitchell, he lands some great power shots every now and again - but he doesnt throw much of them, it's just not in his style.
