The stoppage was good, Paulie was in danger of being knocked the **** out.

Ah, OK. True, Hatton doesn't let you rest. Cotto breaks you down slowly so you'll feel it in the morning if you haven't felt it during the fight or in the locker room (which if you saw Magic Man, it did).

One fighter will make you have to be hooked to an IV to rehydrate...followed by a 18 hour nap.

And the other, a trip to the hospital with a warm gift of Perks when you go home.

uh, isn't that supposed to happen in boxing?

Why do we watch a fight?

If we stopped every fight that we thought a fighter was about to be knocked we would just stick with the amatuers.

They are Pros...let them go out on their shield.

I'm a Paulie fan, I wanted him to win. Hatton was kicking his ass but I still think that was a bad stoppage Paulie could finish that fight, and there was no way Hatton could KO him. As Paulie said, he survived Cotto and he was hurt badly on the Cotto fight. Paulie was definetly gonna lose that fight but YES he is better than being stopped by Hatton.

Yeah, it was a weird stoppage. McGirtt just didn't want to see him take anymore punishment. Had the Cotto fight been stopped, maybe he'd be a better fighter today. It's really hard to say. Paul might not punch hard but that dude can take a fucking punch! He's got a very sound chin. It's a shame that he didn't have a bit more power.

I think maybe people are being a bit hard on Buddy.True,it wasnt the best stoppage I have ever seen, but I dont see it as Buddy being petulant.I just think he was worried about his fighter. One thing we all know about Paulie is that he has a great chin, and the reason we know that is because he gets hit a lot with big shots.he took plenty in that fight, and all though he never went down, his legs buckled a few times.I think that he knew that Paulie didnt have enough to pull out the knockout he needed and was just going be a punchbag for the last round and a half.

McGirt is a complete joke anyway. Nothing that fool does surprises me anymore.

I just watched the fight.. I don't see how Hatton "stopped" Paulie.
                      If anything McGirt stopped Paulie.
He wasn't at all hurt during the time of the stoppage and could have finished the round and went and finished the fight as well.
