De La Hoya: "My Dream, Hatton Fight at Wembley in 2009"

Oscar De La Hoya is still thinking about fighting Ricky Hatton in front of 100,000 screaming Brits at Wembley Stadium in 2009. He says the fight is one of his dreams. No longer going after the big fights in his respective weight class of 147, he appears to be targeting the big names from below. On December 6, De La Hoya will collide with WBC lightweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who jumps two divisions to make the fight at 147. [details]

lolz same ol Oscar, pick on guys your own size for a change!! when was the last time Oscar fought someone who could look him in his eye face to face AND WIN? does anyone know? and don't say Sturm, he lost that fight.. he's going from fight little Floyd to little Forbes to little Pacquiao and now little Hatton, where is Margarito? where is Williams? even if he DOES want to face smaller opposition why not face Cotto? he's picking and choosing fights so this does not surprise me, it disappoints me but it doesn't surprise me..

Picking on another midget I see...

He's always taken tough fights so he deserves a little slack, but come on, fight someone your own size.

I really see this fight happening. Kinda sad though. If Oscar beats Pacman as he should, he might actually end up fighting hatton. First good left hook and the fight is over. Done deal. Hatton has a mediocre chin and vs. someone who can knock jr mw out with a great left hook............ Hatton will be out by the 2nd round.

DLH wants to add some names on his resume before retiring but I guarantee that his last fight (most likely after hatton) will be against one of the top fighters in the world that's "his own size".

What i find funny is just because Hatton isn't that good at 147 people don't give him the same heat they give Margarito because we know how much Hatton ballons up to on fight night, and most would say he is not a natural 140 pounder and should move up cause he puts on so much weight but its Hatton and he's not that tall so he gets a pass.
