Am i, along with Mcgirt the only people who feared for Malignaggis life?!

There was no need to stop this fight. Paulie was OK; let him finish. Whatever happened to letting a fighter go out on his shield?

It seemed Paulie was going to last the full fight and walk out of there on his own two legs.

If we allow this fight to be stopped, boxing will become pussified.

But hey, I also think they should change amatuer boxing to how it used to be...it made for more exciting fights and better preperation for pro fighters to learn how to fight the way they are supped to

I think Buddy McGirt made the right decision. Malignaggi was being hurt, and had no chance of winning. He hadn't been down, but he was staggered several times and needed to repeatedly hold to survive.

What I disagreed with tonight was Brian Vera's corner NOT throwing in the towel a couple of rounds before the ref stopped it. I fear Vera may now have brain damage.

          Castillo was stunned first...

It's the way Castillo's head and body went dead that the ref had to jump in.

It was Vera's choice to go on.

            It's a fight.

People are making it too much about "Sport" instead of a fight.

You should watch Chuck Wepner fight or Tex Cobb.

Oh I agree with you, I felt so bad for Paulie (though I think a stoppage was coming soon anyway, Hatton had landed two or three vicious liver-shots within about 30 seconds) because he clearly felt he was OK. But the rationale for the stoppage could have been "What's the point, he ain't getting a knockout, he ain't winning on points, we may as well pull him out so he doesn't get hurt". I would have rather seen a legit stoppage or a huge decision as a Hatton fan.
