Hatton had started to land liver shots with alarming frequency. I don't think it would have lasted to the end of the 12th but I did feel really bad for Paulie. Though McGirt did say in the corner "You have one more round to do something".

I don't necessarily agree with him stopping it, but I do understand why he did as I've said in other threads. Paulie would of finished on his feet, but with that kind of performance, he didn't deserve to. (GOD I wanted a KO! lol)

What did you think about Gatti vs. Ward and Chico vs. Castillo?

And before you say it was because those fights were competitive; think about Tyson vs. Lewis not being stopped.

**** stoppage, he took more of a beating against Cotto even if it was more competitive with Cotto... He had a visible broken jaw in that fight

But he was winning rounds. It was close. Most corners won't pull you out if there's a good chance you could win.

Castillo and Corrales took more punishment in three rounds than Paulie took in 11

Same goes for Gatti vs. Ward
