Paulie had the sense that he was heavily losing the fight but wanted to finish on his feet. I think champions even paper champs deserve the benefit of the doubt, especially since paulie was never seriously hurt, to hear the decision. I hope paulie fires mcgirt who loves stopping fights Wlad-Brewster II, Gatti-Floyd for example. He's a decent trainer but if he can't stand to see his guy get beat then he's in the wrong line of work.

Yea it was messed up what Buddy did to Paulie, he only needed one more round. Obviously Buddy had good reason to be pissed off at Paulie's performance, but he shouldn't have stopped it there.Paulie had the sense that he was heavily losing the fight but wanted to finish on his feet. i was surprised that buddy stopped it. it's not like the fight was a slugfest, or anything close to it. however, i can't argue with his decision based on the fact that hatton was up comfortably at that point and malignaggi had no chance of winning.
as a competitor i understand why malignaggi was/is upset with having that mark on his record.Comment

Fully agree. I think McGirt meant well but Paulie I think would have made it and I think thats what he was going for.
btw, , but McGirt is one of the most overrated trainers of the last 10 years.Comment

Paulie took two straight big lefts to the liver, I was wondering if he was going to get stopped in this round or the next anyway. He was definitaly hurt and hurt bad to the body but I can understand him wanted to await the decision.Comment
