My point exactly. It only makes sense to like him because of his personality.

I actually prefer Joe's personality to Hatton. Ricky comes off as a lovable idiot, a friendly guy yet not a very clever individual. Joe is much smarter and mature. I also don't see all this "****iness" that his detractors alude to. He's just a very confident individual, and they call him arrogant because he has beaten their favorite fighters and they hate him for it, when all these guys (Lacy, Hopkins, Jones) are MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH more arrogant than Joe. It's just bias and hate.

So it was confidence not ****iness when he was shaking his ass in the ring against a shot bloodied up fighter?

Ricky Hatton - Ricky got his 1st major belt in 2005. He beat Kostya Tszyu for the Ring/Lineal and IBF 140 title. Kostya was the king at 140 , hadn't lost a fight in 8 years and was top 3 or 4 p4p in the world. Kostya also had just beaten Sharmba Mitchell , a fellow champion and top ranked 140 guy , by KO a few months earlier.

Joe Calzaghe - Won the VACANT WBO 168 title in 1997 by beating Chris Eubank. Eubank was a good fighter and good name but he had lost 2 of his last 6 bouts and hadn't been ranked at 168 for years after losing 2 times to Steve Collins in 1995. In fact the Calzaghe fight was his 1st fight at 168 since 1995.
they lack in mental toughness. Calzaghe is alot more mentally tough than Hatton is..Once hatton's gameplan is taken away, he loses focus due to lack of diversity in the ring.

mental toughness has nothing to do with diversity in the ring.

yeah i see a bunch of people making comments about how joe is so superior.

no one is talking about resume and accomplishments though...... hmmm......

i've yet to read any joe guy give details on how joe's resume is far superior to ricky's.

ZZZZZZZzzzzz, another angle with which to approach the Calzaghe is overrated point of view...

The facts seem to be that he is very very good and did not prove it earlier in his career...

If he retires unbeaten I am sure he will see his career as having been a success...a career lasts from first fight to last...I bet he doesnt care if his money fights and any credit he gets from the boxing fraternity come at the end rather than the start or the middle...Hatton meanwhile risks retiring with 2 losses and a question mark over his overall ability...

                      What is better...
