Joe Calzaghe won by punching like he's trying out for the swim team.

        Let's not compare styles.

Ricky is what he is. A pressure fighter.

Everyone talks about Joe's great skills and yet he punches like a teenager boxing in his backyard.

Of course he can. He's a Joe Nuthugger. Facts are unimportant.

                they can't.

that's why they'll bring up ricky's clinching and style. no one said he was sugar ray robinson.

watch them also bring up the collazo fight......as if joe hasn't won a few debatable decisions.

i sure hope ricky wins tomorrow....... if he losses......
I really want to see him win as well. I want Pac to win too.

Hatton vs. Pac...that's what I want to see. May/June 2009 at Wembley Stadium.

Nothing against Paulie, but I think the above fight would be more exciting.

Ricky Hatton - Ricky got his 1st major belt in 2005. He beat Kostya Tszyu for the Ring/Lineal and IBF 140 title. Kostya was the king at 140 , hadn't lost a fight in 8 years and was top 3 or 4 p4p in the world. Kostya also had just beaten Sharmba Mitchell , a fellow champion and top ranked 140 guy , by KO a few months earlier.

Joe Calzaghe - Won the VACANT WBO 168 title in 1997 by beating Chris Eubank. Eubank was a good fighter and good name but he had lost 2 of his last 6 bouts and hadn't been ranked at 168 for years after losing 2 times to Steve Collins in 1995. In fact the Calzaghe fight was his 1st fight at 168 since 1995.
the difference is hatton took risks... he dared to be great and fought floyd. I think the tszyu fight was the climax of hatton's career.

calz on the other hand pissed away most of his career.
