Anyone who needed the victory over Jones as evidence for Calzaghe's HOF status doesn't know boxing. I don't know anyone who I value the opinion of who thought that the Jones fight sealed the deal for Calzaghe and I don't know anyone who I value the opinion of who views the victory as anything other than a good display against a past-his-best fighter.

Epic fail of a thread Jones had 3 fights since losing, Larry lost twice to Spinks (both robberys) then didnt fight for 2yrs. Holmes had not won a fight for 4yrs and was 17yrs older than Tyson. Jones won 3 of his last 6 and was 2yrs older than Calzaghe.

Lacy at 24-1 17ko's is a good test for an up and coming fighter a fighter who lost a couple in a row like JT or even a medicore title deffense. He is not a legacy type opponent. Let me explain a little better. the below rating are on a 1-10 scale. Overall rating is the total amount divided by #$ of categories. just like a batting average.

Power: 8

Speed: 6

Agility: 5

Combinations: 5

Chin: 8.5

Body: 8

Ring Smarts: 6

Deffense: 4.5

Ring Movement:5

Heart: 8

Overall: 6.4

My conclusion is Jeff Lacy is a better then average punchers with a good chin lots of heart and no real boxing skills. His lack of movement and deffense make him a easy target. he can walk down his opponents and close off the ring but as far as fighting backwards he has no foot movement and his head movement is slim to none. Bottom line is he will take tremendous punishment and keep coming forward. the fact I didn't see one good left hook leads me to believe his name is misleading at this point. Even when he fought Joe he was a 7.0 at best if you bump his combinations up to 6 or 7 but he deffense then was even worse as he was even greener then he is now and held and clinched less...Lefty
