you damn right....i watch sports to see the best fight the so-called best. if it doesn't go down, its usually b/c of injury...and sometimes b/c of money....

have you been paying attention? NEVER has margarito said or anyone else said that he can get more money elsewhere. It's the fact that mosley believes he deserves 50% of WHATEVER THE REVENUE IS. Mosley does not deserve to make as much as margarito at this point, it's not even ***en debatable! Mosley doesn't even have a damn belt to try to negotiate something like this. Sorry being mosley and 37 years old and looking like **** against an old mayorga in front of 3,500 people in your own hometown does not justify anything. I will say it again he's not looking for more money elsewhere or is anyone saying he can get more somewhere, nor saying that 2mill would not be his career yet so far. Everybody gave Floyd a hard time for not fighting Margs but what was the incentive to fight him...8mil? He was given 8mil to fight the linear champ in Baldomir? Then they offered it to Floyd again before the fight with Oscar. But Oscar offered 20mil plus ppv sales and live gate. After that fight Hatton for about as much if not more. With all that being said Floyd made the better choices? Everyone talks **** about Floyd not fighting him but think about the situation economically. Margs is not an attraction,he has no following outside of Mexico or the LA area. He turns down 4mil and a chance to avenge his loss and unify then calls out Shane and turns @ and pass on 2mil. He only made 1.2mil to fight Cotto but he made 1.6 to fight Paul. Who the **** is his accountant? in a nutshell the guys an idiot and his actions are whats wrong with boxing.

i laugh when people say shane is the bigger draw. Shows how much you know. Shane has NEVER been a big draw, NEVER!! He fought collazo at mandalay in fron of 3,500 fans same thing with mayorga, no one cares about him! Only success he had was dlh and vargas why? dlh and vargas!

Not only that they changed the card from ppv to free hbo because they knew it wouldn't sell. They figured this fight wouldn't sell in vegas so the best hope is to put the old guy in front of his home crowd in Los Angeles and draws a reported crowd of 5,000 fans and people there said it was about 3,500 Including Earner who covered the fight for boxingscene, and maxboxing. So in your hometown Mr. big name shane against a very exciting fighter in mayorga you bring 3,500 people to watch the fight. Yes the same mayorga that is a household name that people like to see fight. The same mayorga that brought over 500k ppv buys in each fight against dlh and tito. And yes shane the same mayorga that vargas was able to get a ppv date with and sell 300k ppv's!! yet only 3,500 come to watch mayorga fight YOU free on HBO???

Lets rewind to over a year ago when the lesser known Margarito faces a still relatively unknown paul williams who at the time NO ONE BUT hard core BOXING FANS KNEW WHO HE WAS and still is not a good sell. AT THE SAME VENUE MARGARITO BRINGS A RECORD 8,000+ FANS!!! How do you explain that? Now since that fight he's fought at madison square garden, Atlantic city, and The MGM Grand Capturing Two world Championships in the process and Knocking out the undefeated welterweight champion of the world in a fight that many say saved boxing that can be argued as the fight of the year and does 400k plus ppv's in a struggling economy.
