the point is.......DLH & FLOYD always had alternate options, THEREFORE they could play the game......

other than a rematch w/ cotto, which is at least 7 months away, what other options does margarito have that would bring him anywhere near the money he's passing up from SSM & PW???

How is Margarito a bigger draw than Mosley? If you mentioned Margarito's name around most people, they would think your referring to a Margarita. Anyways, it's clear Top Rank doesn't want Margarito to fight Williams.

no. the bottom line is mosley has other options, such as berto. margarito has none. his only option is to wait and hope cotto wins his interim bout, then hope there is enough interest in the rematch that it'll A) be on PPV and B) hte purses will be anywhere near what they were the first time around....

the point is, if margarito called and said he wanted to fight PW in January, whether he's a MD or JMW, PW will come back down to WW to fight him. stop making excuses....and bad ones at that....

bro, margarito can play the "game", he is the champ, he has options, anyone who wants to step up and take a shot at the title, and i'm sure that margarito will fight someone for less money than 2 million dollars, but i bet that if it is less, he's getting the lions share of the cut.

margarito could fight mandatories if he wants to, i hope not, but he's not without options.

this is also another point that no one, especially you, has even considered or pointed out, but margarito has paid his dues, he's waited patiently, he built his career the hard way and went at it in the old school manner, he earned it with no major promotion or any major backing, he earned his title by beating the politics on boxing by being passed up and by fighting fights that no one wants to fight. it's time the he gets to call some shots, if mosley wanted to fight margarito, then he and GBP would do what it takes to make the fight happen. the reason they didn't and don't is because they feel like it's not a 100% win in the bag for mosley at this point in time in his career...............

margarito has the backing of mexico and Mexican-Americans, their populace is far greater than anything mosley could ever drum up............ just because casual boxing fans or sports fans don't know margarito doesn't mean that he is unknown..........

I don't ever recall watching a sporting event wondering how much money the participants are making.
