If Tony were to beat Shane

would you give him credit or not?

    These are the facts.

Shane is 37 years old and past his prime.
He hasn't had an overly impressive win in years. He did what he was expected to do in most cases with the Mayorga knockout being a bit of a surprise.
He has a history of trouble with taller fighters.
Margarito is definitely in his prime at 30.
His style and size proved to be too much for a much fresher Cotto who tried to be elusive.
Shane fights like a controlled madman, not a stylist, but a fighter who likes to stand and trade.
Margarito loves to stand and trade, especially with a smaller foe.

So, if Tony were to beat Shane Mosley, would you give him credit for beating the aged vet or would you make excuses as to what Shane would have done in his prime?

Yes, I would give Tony full credit for beating a 37 year old vet.

No, Shane is too old and would have beat Tony in his prime.

Not really, but that's not point. It's the point that he'll end up fighting someone other, who is probably worse, for less money. It's ****** on his point.

That being said, Mosley's last impressive win was in Feb. 07, so that's not that long ago. I thought his KO almost made up for him having a ****ty fight against Mayorga too

I think you already know the answer to this.

I'd give him more credit than I did Joe for beating Roy. A lot of people gave Cotto credit for it, so I don't see how you can't give Tony any at all.

I have a feeling most people won't though.

From a fans perspective, its very much a point. I don't worry about any boxers money because I don't get any.

Mosley hasn't looked overly impressive versus prime fighters in the last few years. Hes far removed from the Shane Mosley of 2000-2001.

Yeah I would. Shane isn't what he used to be, but he's still better than most and If he fought the right kind of fight and held up to the pressure Margarito brings I could see him winning.

I'd give him credit, especially if he stopped him. That's a very solid win, say what you want, but Shane isn't as over the hill as some people make it seem. I think it would be a great name on his resume, and if he was the first and only person to stop Sugar Shane Mosley, 36 or not, it would be huge.
