So you are saying Lewis just waited longer so that it leaves him with enough room for a supportive excuse by saying, "well, I'm 40+ years old, haven't fought in ages, and married and fat...what did you expect; I did what I could given the circumstances."

I think he just had little to no interest/fight left in him by the time he faced Vitali but didn't realize it until he was pushed in a tough fight...so he decided to call it quits.

It would be exciting, but not in his own best interests. He should have just given him the rematch straight after the first fight and beaten him. It would have saved all these rumours we've had to put up with for 5 years now. Klitschko made a good comeback, but he must have stayed in good shape throughout his hiatus from the ring. He is also younger than Lewis of course. About the same age now as Lewis was when they met.

Only upside for Lewis is that he never took a lot of punishment and should still be a fresh enough older fighter. It doesn't appear that he's been physically active since his retirement, though. I think he'd need one fight before Klitschko.

I think he should leave it. It was a good career. Klitschko needs him, not the other way round.

It'd help boxing out a bit. It would also be a legit super fight. I hope it's true. Does Lennox really want to throw down ina fight similar to the first one though? It's hard to get that hunger again.

Either Klitschko would starch Lewis right now. Sorry to say. For his sake he will stay retired. For mine and boxing fans sake he will come back and finish the business he left in the ring with Vitali.

Side Note* Lewis would not loose too much of his legacy if he lost to Vitali st this point. Everyone knows he is nowhere near prime, kinda like Jones-Calzaghe except Lewis may still have something left in the tank.

I'd come back to fight vitali for 75 million dollars too, but since Lennox looks fat and ****. I wouldn't be surprised if he threw the fight in the first round...

If Lewis does come out from retirement, I hope that he would fight a tune-up before getting in with one of the Klitschkos. I'm not sure how good of shape Lennox has kept himself in since retiring 5 years ago. Vitali, on the otherhand, was reportedly training and keeping himself in great shape during his retirement. I think that's why he was so successful with Sam Peter...

                      yeah thats what i meant

it is possible he just didnt have the will or desire to fight anymore back then

still i didnt like the way he said he would fight a rematch and then came up with different excuses and then retire. he made Vitali a promise that they wuld fight again and it didnt happen

Vitali doesnt really need him and Lennox may not need Vitali but who`s to say Lennox doesn`t need the money
