The title holders all very good fighters and top heavyweights, used to winnmg, were Ruiz, Chris Byrd {who had lost only to Ibeabuchi and W Klitschko both of whom would, I believe, have beaten Lewis} and the Klitschko "twins" whom he avoided "like the plague".
I suppose you know that Kirk Johnson tore his chest muscle, leaving Lewis without an opponent, 9 days before the fight. Johnson was believed by many, to have the beating of Lewis, since he had a stellar record, against good opposition, with only 1 "loss" on DQ against Ruiz, whose acting that night was certainly Enmmy worthy.
So Klitschko, who had been training to fight David Bostice, although he'd been Lewis's no.1 WBC contender for a year, immediately made himself available, although Bostice was immeasurably inferior to Lewis. So K was stepping up in class very unexpectedly and on very short week's notice which was a huge disadvantage. Then there were a day or two lost through Lewis haggling who squeezed more millions from the promoters to fight K.
The reason I've tired yoyr eyes with all this ancillary material is because there's very often a hell of a lot more to know thsn just the result, even if you see it on screen with your own eyes.

Amd whilst we're talking about the cut, it was NOT a cut eye. It was an EYEBROW CUT. not lateral but rather diagonal and with sideway exit, makin a kind of "V", It ran from left to rt, and the cut man Joe De Souza tried at first to treat it as if it ran the opposite way, which made it easy for his right hand. He should have used his LEFT hand.
The point is, that neither the eyebrow cut,{which looked bad becasuse it was in the fleshy, but almost bloodless eyebrow, and was under control at rds end} nor the under eye cuts{ which looked like paper cuts, which bled, but also qwere under control. }
The facts are, that the cuts DIDF NOT affect his vision, nor his ability to fight, and, contrary to what that ****** doctor thought, (he changed his mind several times as to the reasons he stopped the fight) should have had no effect on the fight whatsoever.
Before we go any further can we discuss your credentials which allow you to speak with similar authority on this matter?
