Would Dawson's body punching be a major factor against Calzaghe?

I get upset when i see how hard ppl ride this guy (calzaghe)
    the guy is nothing special.
    lets be real
i hate to explain myself 43254325 times about his career..

theres a reason joe conveniantly was injured 3 times with johnson
joe was also on the verge of NOT fightin lacy when he was injured 2ce as well.
then finally manned up and fought him and whooped his ass..

it wasnt until the lacy fight until joe broke out of his protected shell and started fighting quote unquote, better comptetion..

Dawson would tear that up.. but we will never know what will truly happen unless calz takes this fight.. and if he does, if he just takes this fight, hell have some of my respect

Uhhh Johnson is a Lighty Heavyweight and Calzaghe fought the majority of his career at Super Middleweight so how is Johnson "smaller"? Also i guess Sakio Bika and Peter Manfredo look better on Calzaghes resume then Glenn Johnson who beat Tarver and knocked out Roy Jones........

At this point Dawson would not be able to adjust to the unorthodox timing of Joe's volleys.

Also, the fact that Dawson is a high-output fighter would work against him.

Dawson would fare much better against Hopkins, but still he should avoid that as well. He doesn't need it. He's got his names from the previous generation. He needs to fight Diaconu and the others his age.

Joe was already on the downslide when he fought Lacy. Have you bothered to download his prime fights?

Joe's list of defenses is similar to Hopkins's.

This is a very arrogant post. Nobody is forcing or even asking you to explain your opinion. Everyone here has their own opinion on Joe Calzaghe and we are not asking you to force yours down our throats. You need to accept that we are individuals, we all like different things for different reasons, so please lay off with your rants on how much you dislike a fighter, how worthless he is, etc. You have the attitude of a ******* dictator.

Jus one thing. I don't believe pre-Lacy to be exclusively Joe's prime. He is a complicated fighter and putting your finger on exactly when his prime was/is is very difficult.

Having said that, if indeed his prime was pre-Lacy, it is perhaps the most apparent waste of a boxer's prime in the entire history of this sport. How a man who nearly reaches the top of the p4p rankings and defeats two ring legends can have a best win of a past-prime Eubank on his prime resume would be incredible.

It's hard to say if Dawson would be able to reach Calzaghe's body, Calzaghe has a way of making angles where his body doesn't get hit much.

This fight in my opinion would be decided by the jab, when calzaghe faces really good fighters his jab is normally the deciding factor towards victory, as I was watching the Kessler fight early on I thought it could go either way, but in the middle and latter rounds calzaghe's jab was just too fast for kessler.

Saying this Dawson has a good strong jab also, ultimately I think it is a close fight with both fighters struggling to land on each other dawson landing the harder single shots and calzaghe with better work rate and flurrying I think both fighters would struggle to land to the body. I think calzaghe would maybe win a close decision, as from what I have seen from dawson he likes to fight in spurts and then takes time off in rounds to catch his breath which is why he struggled against johnson. But if he can offset calzaghe in those periods with his jab and good movment then he could easily win, also there is the fact that calzaghe could become old, as I have seen signs of a little slipping in the last couple of years.
