Ideally you'd say it should be even, but one fighter is Sugar Shane Mosley and the other is not. Mosley is the bigger draw of the two(even though he's not a huge draw) regardless of what both fighters have done lately. And it's good money for Margarito. There aren't many fights around where he could get a better offer.

You forgot to add that the Mayorga fight was in an 8,000 seat tennis arena. Not Staples Center, not the LA Sports arena, but the Home Depot Center tennis arena.

Margarito is the champion, belts is what helps you negotiate a fight, guess what shane has none! he lost to miguel cotto, he looked like **** against mayorga in front of 5,000 fans. Mosley is no longer a draw ask any casual they will probably say "that dude still fights". I promise you at this stage of their careers margarito puts more people in the seats than shane does. If this fight were to take place in Vegas it would be 8-2 in favor of margarito just like it was the day of the cotto fight.

50 - 50 is a fair split. Margarito ain't no legend in the sport, he needs to get off his high horses. All he brings is a belt, Mosley is a future Hall of famer who could possibly do ALOT to Margarito's career. Besides 2million dollars is more money then Margarito have EVER earned.

besides the cotto figt when has margarito headlined a ppv? if margarito was not fighting cotto would the fight have donr as much?go outside and ask people if they know who's shane mosley and antonio margarito the majority wil know shane i doubt anyone will know who margarito is
