He was 235 lbs here against Qawi.
I thought he looked decent in the early part of his comeback but people ripped him at that time.

I read George was training hard: eating better, lifting, working outside, sparring, etc. He was really motivated and people took him as a joke early on.

I'm not even sure George expected it.

The Man is obviously a Genetic Alpha-Male, but he just couldn't get his body to be that 20+ Greek God look anymore. He was off for a long time, what do you expect.

You're right about Gatti and others but what I'm talking about is damages to the inner organs following a long steroid abuse. We all know the Evan Fields story and Holyfields heartcondition.

Of course I cannot say that Holyfield definetely juiced, but the indications are so obvious that only the most loyal of fans believe he's clean.
Still makes me laugh. O- Evander

I think he used. He blew up in weight and his bone-mass changed. And like you said, he had a heart condition problem. Of course, there have been many cases with young athletes with such conditions, even many of them dying, especially in the black community, but in this case, I am "assuming" it was from Steroids and not from a genetic defect that seems to be part of the black community with heart trouble.

Foreman: It may have come off as a joke with who he fought, but Foreman did the right thing in my eyes. He slowly worked his way back into boxing. He was restarting his career from the ground up; I think there is humility in that and people didn't see it because they want it now.

When Tyson came out of prison they jumped on him: When are you going to fight for the title. He knew he needed more time but it was rush rush rush. Of course, I think with him it was Rooney or nobody so more time was a waste anyway. If he was with Rooney after prison, I would say 15 month build-up.

Not sure with Ali: I think Ali just pushed himself to fast to get the titles back.

None were ever quite the same when they came back.

I notice a lot of Athletes, and I'm not even talking about the juicers, when they retire and take time off from training....they go to mush. Their bodies just go down hill and quick.

It's like Foreman. Foreman had a great physique when he was only 19...and carried it through his 20's. But, once he retired, BOOM, he grew "bigger."

He came back and I don't think anybody would say he didn't train hard, but he just couldn't get his body to go back to the way it used to look.

It's a shame people teased him about his weight in the second career. Foreman tried to laugh it off and make jokes but you could see it hurt.
most fighters seem to get fat when they retire donr they

Mike McCallum is huge now compared to before

I loved Holyfield's response to the allegations.

"I never used, I heard Mike Tyson used them, but I never used them".

Holyfield lost the Bowe rubber match because of HGH-itis.

He said he was suffering from Hepatitis during the 3rd Bowe fight. I just call it HGH-itis because he was probably on it.

His symptoms following the first Moorer fight were said to be consistent with HGH use, according to the doctors in Nevada at the time.
